Jordan Harrison foi finalista do Prémio Pulitzer de 2015 por “Marjorie Prime”. Outras peças incluem “The Grown-Up” (Humana Festival), “Doris to Darlene”, “A Cautionary Valentine” (Playwrights Horizons), “Amazons and their Men” (Clubbed Thumb), “Act A Lady” (Humana Festival), “Finn in the Underworld” (Berkeley Rep), “Futura” (Portland Center Stage/NAATCO), “Kid-Simple” (Humana Festival), “The Museum Play” (WET) e um musical, “Suprema” (O’Neill Music Theatre Conference). Jordan estreou duas novas peças Off-Broadway na temporada 2017-2018: “The Amateurs”, no Vineyard Theatre e “Log Cabin”, no Playwrights Horizons.
Jordan recebeu o Guggenheim Fellowship, o Hodder Fellowship, o Horton Foote Prize, o Kesselring Prize, o Roe Green Award da Cleveland Play House, o Heideman Award, o Theatre Masters Innovative Playwright Award, o Loewe Award for Musical Theatre, Jerome e McKnight Fellowships, uma bolsa da NYSCA e uma residência NEA/TCG com o The Empty Space Theatre. O seu musical infantil, The Flea and the Professor, ganhou o Prémio Barrymore de Melhor Produção após estrear no Arden Theatre. Formou-se na Universidade de Stanford e pelo programa Brown MFA, Jordan é ex-aluno do New Dramatists. Por três temporadas, ele foi guionista e produtor da série original da Netflix “Orange is the New Black”.
